| GOSH, I guess I'm not really into this Xanga thing, last update was Christmas? Woah. Let's see, has anything new happened in the last 6 months?
Hmm... went fishing. went to a Giant's game. oh yeah, I got engaged.
Hahahahahahahahah... ok, yeah, getting engaged was a really big thing. Here's how it happened. May 1, 2004:
Morning: Woke up. Said to myself, "today would be a good day to get engaged."
Afternoon: Asked Viv, "So, wanna get married?"
3 days later: Viv said, "uh... ok."
Just kidding, it was *slightly* more romantic than that, but if I had known exactly how many times I'd be asked "how" I proposed, I might have been more elaborate. But, the important thing is she did actually say yes. So now the wedding plans... Since these things can be kinda expensive...
Here are my money saving tips:
1) borrow stuff from Manus and Lawrence's wedding.
2) potluck banquet.
3) 1150 Vicente St... heh heh...j/k I can't get married in a place I've slept in.
So last week a guy from SD came by to interview for my current job. He was a really nice guy. On Saturday night he went over to AJ's house for pizza, video games, and a little... Texas Hold'em. I think we should have REALLY put him to the test... I was telling John that in addition to the poker, we should have had Calvin roll out a keg, bring out some naughty magazines, and see what he does... We get the whole thing on film and then show it to the G-Board. Sup-priz-eee!
I actually did go fishing with Viv. We had to get to Emeryvill by 5AM! So woke up at like 3:30, loaded up our gear, went to pick up Viv and rolled out... we went out of the Golden Gate, by Ocean Beach off of Pacifica. Started catching big stripped bass. Vivian was the hot rod. She caught like 3 in a row. A lot of the guys fishing next to us were jealous. We caught 8 total. Not a bad day.

i included my feet in the picture so you can grasp the enormity of these piggy fish.

And as an added bonus you can do bicep curls with these fish... viv's working out her shoulders. Bench pressing fish can be a bit of a sloppy move however...
Went to go see Sarah McLachlan last Friday in SJ. (yes, Viv's choice). But I think she's good. Concert was good. She can really sing, one of the best singers from the 90's and now. He band is pretty good, except the stupid camera guy, whenever he zoomed in on the guitar guy during a solo, zoomed in on the guys right hand, instead of the left hand, so you couldn't really see what he was playing! boo. Not sure if you know Sarah McLachlan's stuff, but her songs are really moody, girlie yet independent and strong. So as a result, she appeals to a certain crowd... a *happy* sort of female crowd. Let's just say, she's a big star on the Island of Lesbos. Interesting. Sarah Mc. is married by the way... but I guess her music just *speaks* to certain people. It was good for me though... no waiting in the men's room.
Well, I hope those of you who actually read this are happy with my bi-annual update. Hopefully I talk to you more than I update my Xanga... be well.

| Ok, here's my monthly update... Merry Christmas Everyone!
Saw Lord of the Rings on Monday. Very good. Well the first 3 hours and 15 mintues were good, the last 10 sort of dragged for me. Prehaps it was the 64 ounces of Coke I drank during the previews. *note* go pee before the movie starts and don't drink 64 ounces of Coke during the previews.
The ending was drawn out, but that's true to the book, if you've ever read the book, the last 100 pages are sort of a long drawn out farewell... but in the book, Sarumon the Off-White Wizard attacks the Shire! And the hobbits kick his butt... can't wait for the extended version...oh man, that version has to be about 5 hours long...oh my. Next December we're going to have to have an extended version marathon... 12 hours+!!!
Oooooo! So Union 76 was offering free Fandango Ticket if you buy a $25 cash card. FREE MOVIE TICKETS!!! And I buy about $25 worth of gas every 7-10 days so I figure what the heck. But of course the SF ones are sold out ('cause you know the Asians are on the Free ticket hunt...) So I head up to Marin... heh heh... (not as many Asians to compete with...) but alas... no gift cards... But when I get back to the City I found 2 places that had them... heh heh... so you know I bought a bunch... heh heh... ok, only 8... $200 bucks worth...oh man... but FREE TICKETS!!! That's like $72 worth of movies for free!!! I'm going back to get some more I think... we'll see... and I'm not telling you my secret location... it's like my little treasure chest that's mine! All mine!!!!!
Going to have mucho people over this weekend. Jeremiah Youth Fellowship is at my house this Saturday. I was sorta hoping that not that many people would be around, but I think a bunch might come... oh my. My house can only hold about 15 people, and even that's pushing it! Hmmm maybe folks will have to hang out in the garage while we take turns eating. Oh well... good times. Then I have another party on Sunday Night for some of my "adult" friends... we'll see which group is more civilized. Grigio is excited, we haven't thrown a house party for a while.
Ok, that's it for now folks. Next update in about 30 days. Hope you have a great Christmas. Go Warriors!
| Woah... my last entry was October 13th... Columbus Day... and now it's Thanksgiving. I guess it's time for a Xanga update. Let's see what's new Mr. Magoo?
The new pad is taking shape. I'm going for the Pottery Barn/Target look, a.k.a. Classy Trashy. Running out of money however. Might have to go for the Pottery Barn/Goodwill look pretty soon... or better yet.. the Pottery Barn/Whatever I Can Find on the Street look. a.k.a. The MAC building.
The new job is going well. My students have a decent amount of respect for me. I think because they figured out that I have a grade book and I'm not afraid to use it. And also I was able to kick out 3 trouble makers. But in truth, I only kicked out 2, the other trouble maker just hasn't shown up for a few weeks. See the thing is, the other 9th grade teachers are... well... not very good.... so my class is kinda afraid of getting kicked out and sent to one of these other guys... so the result is... they're starting to fear getting on my bad side. They're pretty funny. I teach an Honors Biology class... I should use "quotes" around the word "honors." They really aren't so deserving of the moniker. One kid cracked me up and wrote on the board the other day... "Biology Honors: for Dummies." Hee hee...
Did you hear my steak story? Allen retold it. I may as well give my account. So rib eye steaks are usually about $7-10 a pound. But a few weeks ago, Cala has a deal, $2.69 a pound!!! (limit four trays per customer). So Viv tells me about it, and so we go to Cala by my house on Geary, and it's PACKED with cheapskates like me. Not a steak in sight. Bummer. So we head to the other Cala... not really expecting much. Get there, and it's packed too, BUT just as we get to the meat department, the dude rolls up a Cart O'Meat. Score! We picked up 4 huge packs, three steaks each, each pack was priced regularly at $50 bucks, but on sale for $13! So we bought all 4 packs (12 steaks), with a club card savings of like $110!!!!!!! Unbelievable! So we call Viv's mom, and she's like, "what are you doing, buy more!!!" But it's too late, that Cala is a mad house... but then we remember that there's another Cala on Haight street... hmmmm... but what are the chances that they'd have more? So we give it a try anyway. Get there, and that place is empty! We get to the meat counter and it's deserted, but there are plenty of steaks! We figured it out.... Haight Street is full of Vegitarians and there is a conspicuous lack of Chinese people! Hence the plethora of CHEAP MEAT!!!! So Viv and I bought another 4 packs each!!! (these only had 2 steaks per pack) All told we bought 28 rib eyes. With a club card savings of over $300. I think my hunting and gathering instincts kicked in. The taste of blood was on my lips and the thrill of the "hunt," took over me, if it weren't for Viv, I would have gone back for more, moRE. MORE!!!! Must get more MEAT!!! Buy a extra freezer! Convert the living room into a meat locker!!! The club card savings are too much... my precious... my precious... MORE!!!!
Ok, I think the choleterol is getting to my brain.
Other things in the news... bought Michael Jackson's greatest hits. That guy was really good. I remember the whole Billy Jean/Thriller time in the mid 80's. I was at Aptos Middle School at the time... in the "hood." And I remember how excited people were when his new stuff came out...the songs, the videos, the glove, the red jacket... the MOONWALK?!?!?! He was the best. His music has held up too, if you listen to it now, it's still good stuff. But man, that guy is a freak! There was one African American comedian that joked about him, and said, "America is the greatest country in the world, you can become whatever you want. For example, only in America, can a poor black kid like Michael Jackson, grow up and become a rich white woman!" Hee hee... Seriously though, the guy's a freak. He looks freaky, he acts freaky, he's just plain freaky! I'm sure there used to be a lot of people who wanted to be like him growing up... but not sure how many would want to trade places with him now.
Ok, that's it for the update. Let's see, according to my schedule, my next update will be around... Christmas... so until then... Feliz Thanksgiving!

| Ok, by popular demand, I'll update.
The SF Giants: I have one word to describe them: we stink. Oh, I guess that was 2 words... Well at least they didn't go all the way to the World Series and THEN let their stinkiness come out in game 6 and 7. Well the one positive thing was that I had tickets to game 5, this way, I got my money back with out seeing them lose in person.... grrrrrrrr... hey Brian Sabean, here's an idea... get some guys that can hit and catch, and maybe do that before Barry is 65 years old.
Church: Parent's potluck was pretty good. But all we had was chicken and noodles... What?!?!?!?! there were ribs and meatballs? Oh yeah that's right, the GIRLS and MOMs ate them all before I could get in line...hmmm see if I give them any special priviledges in the future.
Special shout out to Allen, for getting the video done before 8PM. Good job AJ, it would have been a pretty dull night with me stalling with TRIVIA for an hour and a half.
Working out: What's up with everyone working out? Becky is sneaking into a 12 O'clock class so she has more time to work out? Pastor Wayne, Law, Manus and like 80 other people from church all got 24 memberships and are working out together? Alvina and Aaron are comparing biceps? What the heck is going on? Ok forget you jabronies, I'm still at Megaflex, a REAL gym. A gym with old equipment, smelly bathrooms and no girls in cute outfits, in fact no girls at all. Just MEN who want to pump up. Why would you want to go to a gym open 24 hours? Ok, except for Aaron, who might actually work out at 3AM...
Our Governor: Ok, are we a joke of a state or what? Only in California could we have Conan be governor. Joe Ho put it well when he quoted our Governor Elect as saying: "Gray Davis? It was a TOTAL RECALL!!!!!" Oregon is starting to look better and better: no sales tax, no baseball team to break your heart, and no Arnold. Better yet, Washington: no property tax, they have a good football team, AND they have a TOI SAN DOI as governor!!!! That's the best!
Ok, that's about it.... hope everything's going well... talk to you later.
| Whoa...it's been a while since i've entered anything...
Like a few months..
Well, I've been busy. Got a new job, new house, and a new special friend. Gosh, all I need now is a new car. Dennis and I were talking about that and decided that a new Mazda 6 would be just fine. Ok, let's recap the 6 weeks since my last entry.
New Job: Started working back at Galileo, part-time. I teach 2 classes. Everything was going well. I had these 2 ninth grade science classes. They were swell. Then all of the sudden I got 2 NEW classes. Biology, my 9th graders were sent into a million different classes... and let's just say they were "ticked" off. My new classes are sort of... ummm... not so fun. Well, I think they'll grow on me. My one class is for new immigrants. I have students from all over the WORLD! That's the best thing about Gal. I have 2 students from Bosnia, some from Nicaragua, Mexico, Cambodia, the Phlippines, China, Hong Kong, and even Nepal! I've never had a student from Nepal before, she's the best. I love talking to the kids about their home countries. But, man these kids love to talk. I had to yell at them the other day. I hate yelling, but I had to be really teachery or else it would have been a long day...
Still working at church, part-time...
Been hanging out with as many people leaving as I can. Had lunch with Dennis on Thursday. That was cool, we talked about Davis and ate pizza... meatball and pineapple... the best!
Went on a Quickly run with Alvina and Bec (with out a K)... I guess my hug was a rite of passage... don't misinterpret that... it was just a normal hug!!! Gosh, didn't know I was the gate keeper to the "passage," but I guess I am.
New Home: I moooooved. Man, moving is a pain, but I like my new place. It's about 100 times bigger than my other place... ok, it's only about 4 times bigger, but that feels like a big difference. Grigio likes the new digs... I'm living in the Richmond District... never done that before. Been walking to places to eat... if you wanna swing by... give me a holler...
Other Random thoughts:
Yeah, Aaron and I will have to get World Series tickets some how. It's going to be a long road. I think we can beat the Phillies or Florida. But I don't like Atlanta, they're scary. If we do make it to the World Series... there are some scary teams out there in the AL. Remember when we played the Twins? Those guys killed us. The Yanks, A's, or Red Sox are pretty scary too... oh man...
Here's a random thought... Russ Ortiz, Livan Hernandez, and Bill Mueller?!?!?!?! What's up with that? Ok, we had to get rid of Livan... but the other two are good Christian Boys! And they're totally doing well!
Ok, better go. It's dumpling day. Poor Will, it was his first week to lead Jeremiah, and I sort of missed a few of his phone calls... like 12 to be exact. I came home and my phone doesn't have reception, and so when I did get back into "range." I had like 13 missed calls... 12 from Wil and 1 from Gab, who was calling on behalf of Wil... sorry! But I think things are going to be fine.
Well, I'll talk to you later...
Oh, what about my new special friend, you might ask? Well, you'll have to talk to me in person about that... heh heh...
